Catching the Rain—Clean Water for Kids

In developing countries, clean water is a precious commodity.  For vulnerable children, the difference between clean and unsafe drinking water can mean life or death. Many schools are in areas where the government has been forced to ration the water supply, which unfortunately means there isn’t enough to go around.

Water catchment systems are a simple, affordable way for kids to have access to clean water. During the rainy season, the water catchment system collects rainwater and stores it for use year-round. It is safe, clean, and easily accessible.

Our goal is to be able to have water catchment systems in all of the schools where Christian Character Building is offered.  Already there are eight water catchment systems in place and, through our Reaching Out to a Needy World event on March 3rd, we were able to raise the funds for ten more. We have a long way to go yet, but with your help, we believe every student will one day know what it’s like to have as much water as they need.
