Easter Hope Pack
Easter is a season of hope, but for many families in Uganda, Kenya, Peru, and India, it's a time of deep uncertainty. Empty cupboards. Growling stomachs. Parents watch helplessly as their children go to bed hungry yet again.
You can change that—right now.
For just $26, you can provide a Hope Pack filled with essential food—rice, oil, milk, beans, and more—bringing nourishment to a family in urgent need. But the impact goes beyond food. In the weeks leading up to Easter, children engage in a Gospel-based curriculum focused on the resurrection of Christ, deepening their understanding of His love and sacrifice. Every child also receives a prayer calendar and celebrates Easter at their Life Center, where they learn their true HOPE is found in Jesus Christ.
Your gift is more than a meal—it’s a lifeline. It’s the answer to a mother’s prayer, the strength for a child to grow, and a reminder that they are not forgotten.
The need is urgent. The time is now. Be the hands and feet of Jesus this Easter. Give the gift of hope today. Choose how many Hope Packs to provide above and click give!
Peninah’s Story: From Hunger to Hope
Peninah carries more responsibility than most girls her age, helping her mother with chores while excelling in school and dreaming of becoming a nurse. But hunger threatens to steal that future. Her parents, small-scale farmers, cultivate land they do not own. For three seasons, floods washed away their crops, followed by drought that withered what remained. Yet even in their struggles, they cling to faith, trusting that God will provide.
With no food to sell, they survived on a single cup of thin porridge each night—just enough to silence the hunger pangs, never enough to nourish. Her parents took whatever work they could find, yet it barely kept them going. Then, just as despair set in, hope arrived. Peninah’s Life Center teacher brought news: a Hope Pack from Childcare Worldwide was waiting for them. Her mother, overwhelmed with relief, wept and praised the Lord for His provision.
The next morning, Peninah and her brother rushed to the Life Center, their breath catching at the sight—baskets of food stacked high, a miracle made possible by people who cared. She clutched a sack of maize flour, pressing it to her chest like a long-lost friend, her eyes filled with tears. That night, for the first time in months, their family ate a full meal.
Though life is still difficult, Peninah now carries hope alongside her dreams. With a full stomach, she can study. With renewed strength, her parents can work. And in her prayers, she carries the names of those who made this moment possible. “Thank you,” she says. “You have made us live happily again.”
Peninah’s story is a testament to God’s faithfulness—a reminder that through His people, even a simple meal can change everything.
There are many other children and families just like Peninah’s. Give a Hope Pack today!
Frequently Asked Questions
If I am a sponsor, how do I know the Hope Pack will go to my child?
Your child(ren) will receive a Hope Pack because of your donation, and they will know it is from you. Since your donation goes toward our Hope Pack fund, your contribution receipt/giving history won't include your child's name, but rest assured the actual Hope Pack will go to your sponsored child(ren).
If I buy more than one Hope Pack, who will it go to?
Any additional Hope Packs you purchase will go to other children in our program who do not have a sponsor, a child who is a Life Center Member, or a sibling who attends Life Center.
What Happens at a Hope Pack celebration?
Hope Pack celebrations are held at Life Center, the local church where Childcare Worldwide kids meet weekly to learn about Jesus. Each child is warmly welcomed, receives a nourishing meal, and enjoys fun activities. They are reminded that Jesus is our greatest hope, and the Gospel is shared. Of course, the much-needed Hope Packs are also distributed during this time.
Can I get a copy of the Prayer Calendar?
Absolutely! Click here to download a free copy of the prayer calendar that will be distributed this Easter. We invite you to join the children in prayer for 30 days after Easter, following the scriptures on the calendar.
